We totally enjoyed our delicious indian food, wine, and the kind and friendly waitress/hostess. Great to have a new alternative for food in downtown Modesto. Many people were coming in and out for take out orders. The inside is decorated with colorful items. Nothing fancy, just excellent indian food and a relaxed atmosphere.

We went a little later in the afternoon before closing time. I was a little bit surprised the place was dead. Just us two in the place. We get a plate right away for the lunch buffet. I tried a little bit of everything. I don't know what it is, but I just love their long grained non sticky rice. It's refreshing to eat different types of rice. It goes really good with their chicken curry. I wasn't a big fan of their beef curry, it's bit too chewy for me. But everything was pretty tasty. Definitely a good place that would hit the spot if you're craving Indian food or want to have your first go at it.

I've tried to give this place a chance more than once Bc I love Indian food. Buffet is terrible so now I've done regular dining service twice now. I don't know how this place has 4.5 stars. Nothing ever tastes fresh. sorry monsoon. I wish i had better experiences. I will not be returning after Today.

The best Indian food in town for sure. Maybe the best restaurant in town period. Monsoon is my go to for delivery because they're always super fast and the food is always perfect. Everything here is amazing but the paneer tikka masala and Chana masala are my favorite. I always get a side of naan and a mango lassi too- seriously so good. Love this place

Usually when I go to an Indian restaurant the saving grace is the butter chicken. Even if the rest is mediocre they can get this one dish right. Here it was the least favorite part of the meal. Which is not to say it was bad because it was good! But everything else was so tasty I had to get more of it all! Oh to be thin and with a big empty stomach! I just couldn't eat it all. Definitely on my recommend list.

At the lunch buffet they had potato samosas which were delicious. The fish pakora was light and not over cooked as so many places do. The palak paneer was a little different but better! And the aloo  gobi has just the right amount of flavor. And the potatoes were cooked perfectly.
